The latest development in the ongoing pandemic is the requirement by the CDC for passengers returning to the United States to get a Covid test within 72 hours of their boarding time in order to be allowed to board. We recognize that this is a bit of an added imposition for our travelers but fortunately there are many options to meet this requirement.
As of Jan 26th there is a testing lab at the Cabo airport which will offer Antigen ( USA) and PCR ( Canada) tests to travelers with flight reservations. The cost for these tests is $450 pesos ( about $23 US) for Antigen test and $1,450 Pesos ( about $75 US) for PCR test. The Antigen test results come quickly via email but still recommended to arrive at airport 1-2 hrs prior to normal preflight arrival time to have extra time to take test and wait for results. The other options are 3 labs in La Paz about 40 minutes drive from our resort. If you don’t have a car to make the trip we will provide a shuttle. You can input your info and book a time slot online or we can help you at the office. You should plan on getting your test set up for about 1-2 days prior to your departure to ensure you receive the results in the appropriate time window.
With regards to our local situation in this pandemic: Fortunately, our town is pretty far off the beaten track, and we have not been informed of any local outbreaks of Covid-19. All rooms are cleaned and sanitized between guests. Our employees are being screened daily by a monitoring team and of course our employees will have appropriate PPE. Our rooms are well spaced out so social distancing is easy. Coyas restaurant will not be open to the general public; hotel guests only until further notice and we will have distanced seating or room service delivery as an option. We are asking guests to wear face coverings while in resort areas where distancing is not possible. We understand that times are challenging right now with travel and Covid concerns. Our regular cancellation policy is that cancellations fewer than 60 days prior to check in date forfeit 50% of deposit, and cancellations fewer than 30 days prior to check in lose 100% of deposit. As a special Covid-19 protection if you are unable to travel due to closed borders or quarantine issues and need to cancel at a closer date, we can apply your full deposit payment to a future reservation or refund 100%. If at any time prior to your check in date you just decide that the extra hassle of the negative Covid test to return is not worth it then we can give you a full credit of your deposit on a return stay within two calendar years from check in date of original reservation.
