La Ventana has been recognized as one of the world’s best spots to
learn or practice kiteboarding (kitesurfing). The combination of plenty
of long beaches, steady side-onshore winds and a big beach that hooks
out downwind mean that you can maximize your learning potential while
having a big safety factor. We welcome both kiteboarders and windsurfers
here and offer windsurfing instruction onsite. There are a few outfits
offering kiteboarding instruction in La Ventana who are listed here
below. These are NOT affiliated with Ventana Windsports! all are within
a few minutes walk up or down the beach. Contact them directly for info
on lessons or gear rental. One caveat is that most will not provide
rental gear unless you are taking a lesson. Baja Joes also has a
well-stocked store with kites, boards, parts, and other gear.
